North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute services through two hospital sites; Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven as well as a birthing centre at Penrith Community Hospital.

Both hospitals provide a 24-hour A&E department as well as a number of medical treatments including cancer care which is split across both sites.
