West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust operates three hospital sites in Hertfordshire; Hemel Hempstead Hospital, St Albans City Hospital and Watford General Hospital.

The main site for emergency care is Watford General Hospital which has a 24-hour A&E department, maternity unit, as well as radiology services and care for the elderly. Hemel Hempstead Hospital provides an urgent care centre as well as diagnostic services such as MRI whereas St Albans City Hospital provides elective care including low risk inpatient care and day-case surgery.
