£75,000 Settlement Secured for Passenger After Traumatic Road Traffic Collision

Solicitor Myriam Musumari successfully secured a settlement of £75,000 for her client, Mrs J, who suffered traumatic injuries following a road traffic collision.

Mrs J was a passenger in a vehicle when it collided with a tree, causing it to flip and roll. Despite wearing a seatbelt, Mrs J suffered extensive injuries. She was taken by ambulance to hospital where it was revealed that she had suffered a brain injury, a L3 vertebral fracture, a nasal bone fracture and a laceration to the eyelid.

In the weeks following the incident Mrs J suffered with pain across her back and was unable to complete her usual daily tasks. As a result of the brain injury, Mrs J continues to suffer from cognitive difficulties including reduced memory and difficulty retrieving words. Mrs J has also suffered from trauma-related anxiety.

Following Myriam’s letter of claim, the defendant subsequently accepted primary liability for the collision. An offer of £75,000 was then made by the Defendant. Given the strong supporting evidence and the extent of harm Myriam discussed with Mrs J that this offer didn’t fully reflect everything she had endured. However, Mrs J was keen to accept the offer and Myriam understood her needs, providing guidance and support to secure the offer that was right for Mrs J.
