Running a number of regional and national services, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust covers Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead and Sunderland.

The trust provides inpatient care for patients with more complex mental health needs. The trust also supports the Criminal Justice System by supporting offenders with suspected mental health problems or learning disabilities through its Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Service.
