St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides acute and intermediate care through its two hospital sites; St Helens Hospital and Whiston Hospital.

Whiston Hospital provides a 24-hour A&E department, maternity services whereas St Helens Hospital provides cancer care including a chemotherapy unit. The Trust is also home to the Mersey Regional Burns Unit, serving a population of 4 million across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
